MSC SCONA 69 - Spring 2024 | Each spring the Memorial Student Center (MSC) Student Conference on National Affairs (SCONA) hosts a conference to provide “programs for students across Texas, the nation, and the world to exchange ideas and discuss the role of the United States in the global community.” The theme for SCONA 69 was “American Grand Strategy: Winning the Decisive Decade,” and was held on February 15-17, 2024. SCONA 69 utilized speakers and team facilitators with first-hand experiences in the topics to guide delegates in the creation of a policy paper. Customer Satisfaction Survey 2021-2022 | Division of Student Affairs (DSA) staff members who used the DSA Department of Information Technology (DoIT) services during the 2021-2022 academic year were surveyed regarding their overall satisfaction with DoIT services. This is the seventh time Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) helped DoIT assess customer satisfaction of clients regarding the various services offered by DoIT. Business Relationship Management Model Survey 2021 | Division of Student Affairs (DSA) department directors and staff who are members of the DSA Department of Information Technology (DoIT) Liaison committee during the 2020-2021 academic year were surveyed for feedback regarding their relationship with DoIT services, as defined by four core discipline components of the Business Relationship Management (BRM) model. This is the first time Student Life Studies helped DoIT assess departmental feedback regarding progress towards an optimum relationship with each DSA departments using the BRM model. Disability Resources - Faculty Survey 2023 | Disability Resources gathers feedback from faculty members every few years to understand how they can best work with faculty to serve students. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Needs and Awareness - 2022 | Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) wanted to understand the level of awareness faculty, staff, and students have of the department’s services as well as their knowledge of suicide prevention training and My Student Support Program (My SSP) @ TAMU. Additionally, the department wanted to learn what services students thought were beneficial and discover any reservations students had about going to CAPS. Furthermore, CAPS wanted to know the comfort level faculty and staff had in referring students to the department. Counseling and Psychological Services Suicide Prevention Training - Jan 2021-Aug 2022 | Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides suicide awareness and prevention training workshops for students, faculty, and staff. CAPS wanted to know if participants were learning the information covered during the training and their comfort level in talking about suicide to others. Additionally, CAPS wanted to understand what participants thought about the training and how to improve it in the future. Website Review-Student Focus Groups | Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) completely revamped their website, first showcasing in the fall of 2019. Early spring 2020 a series of student focus groups were held to understand student use and obtain their feedback regarding changes and improvements that were needed to further update the website to better meet students' needs. Memorial Student Center Student Diversity Focus Groups Fall 2020 | At the beginning of fall of 2020, the Memorial Student Center (MSC) Diversity contacted Student Life Studies (SLS) to help facilitate focus groups as outlined in their diversity plan that would enable them gain insight regarding the current climate with the MSC. Student Life Studies has worked with the MSC before in their assessment of diversity within the MSC, and this is the second time SLS assisted the MSC in conducting focus groups regarding MSC student perceptions surrounding diversity and inclusion. Health Promotion: Hullabaloo U Healthy Relationships Lesson Fall 2023 | As part of the 2023 Hullabaloo U curriculum, Health Promotion (HP) staff were required to provide a lesson called Healthy Relationships. Instructors and students were surveyed after the Healthy Relationship lesson was facilitated during weeks six through 11 to measure its effectiveness from each of their perspectives. This lesson was provided to multiple Texas A&M campuses as well as the College Station campus. New Aggies Student Survey: Success in the First Year | All new undergraduate students (First Time in College [FTIC] and transfer), including branch campuses, were invited to complete the New Aggies Student Survey September 8-27, 2020. The survey gathered feedback on a variety of topics including pre-college experiences, sense of belonging, campus climate, potential obstacles, and campus resources. A total of 7,288 students responded to the survey. Fish Camp Participant Evaluation - Summer 2023 | According to its website (http://fishcamp.tamu.edu/mission/), Fish Camp strives to “welcome freshmen into the Aggie Family by sharing the traditions and values of Texas A&M University and building long-term relationships that embody the Aggie spirit.” Fish Camp operates as a student organization and is housed in the Department of Student Activities. This year, eight sessions were held in person from July 24th through August 13th, 2023. Fish Camp used to be a four-day camp at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center in Palestine, TX. However, starting in 2021 Fish Camp was shortened to three days. Fish Camp leaders and advisors wanted to understand the participants’ camp experiences and how Fish Camp affected, if at all, the start of the fall semester for those who attended.
