| OCSS Good Neighbor Network Summary Report SP26 | Off Campus Student Services (OCSS), a unit in Student Life, established a network of local property managers known as the Good Neighbor Network (GNN). The goal of the Good Neighbor Network was to bring local property managers together with Off Campus Student Services staff to discuss student and community needs and to facilitate engagement opportunities for property managers who were part of the Good Neighbor Network to engage with students. Off Campus Student Services wanted to assess the effectiveness of the Good Neighbor Network and get feedback from property managers on how to improve the Good Neighbor Network experience in the future. | OVPSA Supervisor Training Spring 26 Summary Report | The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs (OVPSA) partnered with Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness (HROE) to facilitate a one-day supervisor training, held on April 30, 2026, for staff members within the Division of Student Affairs who supervise staff and were nominated by their departments to attend. The training included topics such as communication, conflict resolution, Texas A&M University’s Human Resources policies, and leadership development. | Recreational Sports Needs Assessment Spring 2026 | Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) at Texas A&M University wanted to gather student feedback on their facilities and programs. More specifically, Rec Sports staff wanted to gauge student opinion regarding an expansion plan for a West Campus facility and an accompanying fee increase. | SDT Needs Assessment 2026 Summary Report | According to the staff Intranet site, the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) Staff Development Team “works to enhance the competencies of professionals in the Division of Student Affairs by facilitating purposeful, innovative, and engaging activities that educate, train, and develop.” This includes hosting six monthly division meeting programs per academic year. The Staff Development Team (SDT) wanted to assess division staff to determine if the monthly programs were meeting their needs and gather ideas for future meetings. | Traditions & Ethical Alternative Workshop Evaluation 2025-2026 | Student Community Standards (SCS) wanted to assess the learning and overall experiences of students attending a new workshop introduced this year, the Traditions & Ethical Alternative Workshop. An evaluation was developed to identify if student participants understood the PREFF (Physical, Reputational, Emotional, Financial, Facilities) model of risk management. This model was introduced through the workbook students partially completed prior to attending then worked through during the workshop. The evaluation also requested participants’ feedback about the effectiveness of the facilitators. | Stark Northeast Tour 2026 Evaluation | The MSC Programs Stark Northeast Tour provides students with the opportunity to explore premier cities in the US and expand their personal Aggie network during spring break. This year, the trip happened from March 7-15, 2026. Trip participants were assessed through an electronic survey throughout the trip to gauge how well the outcomes were met and the overall impact of this experience on these students. | Student Leader Summit 2026 | Student Organization Leadership and Development (SOLAD) is a unit in the Department of Student Activities. SOLAD held the inaugural Student Leader Summit on February 28, 2026, at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center. The Student Leader Summit is an in-person training opportunity that allows Chief Student Leaders to come in person to engage in leadership development, networking, and content learning. Student leaders are encouraged to engage in critical thinking about their leadership capabilities. SOLAD staff will be using the results from this survey to better understand what student leaders gained from attending the Student Leader Summit and enhance the training for future years. | Student Employee Experience-Stay Interviews 2025-26 | Department of Student Activities staff wanted to understand more about their student employees’ experiences while working in their department. Specifically, staff wanted to identify why student employees (student assistants) stay working within Student Activities, the marketable skills they learned through working in Student Activities, and whether they felt respected and valued by their supervisors and peers. During the spring semester, Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) worked with Student Activities staff to develop and facilitate individual student employee interviews and a short survey to gain insights from their student employees. | MSC Programs ISA International Student Experiences Spring 2026 Summary Report | The mission of the International Student Association (ISA) includes representing and advocating for international Aggies and promoting cultural awareness through programming and community engagement. To continue to support international students’ needs at Texas A&M University, ISA partnered with Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) to host a series of focus groups during the Spring 2026 semester. | MSC Programs Council Committee Leadership Assessment - SP 2026 | The Memorial Student Center (MSC) Student Programs Office has 16 MSC Program Council committees who provide programs and speakers for campus events throughout the year. Three Program Assemblies, made up of groups of student leaders and advisors, meet to approve programs and speakers for upcoming events put on by the MSC committees. The MSC Program Council leaders wanted feedback from its committees’ student leaders at various levels of leadership regarding their experiences with the program planning process and Program Assemblies (PAs) to find out how to improve its effectiveness and committee support. The survey developed was sent to MSC Program Council leaders, Vice Presidents, Committee Chairs and Directors (student leaders who are members of committees and present program proposals and speaker approvals at Program Assemblies). | Mi Casa Es Su Casa 25-26 Summary Report | Since 2005, the Committee for the Awareness of Mexican-American Culture (CAMAC), a student organization within MSC Programs, featured the program Mi Casa Es Su Casa, an opportunity for students to have a home cooked meal in a faculty or staff member’s home. The program intends to provide a chance for participants to network with other students and gain a better understanding of opportunities that could open in the future. The MSC CAMAC leadership wanted to understand the students' experiences with the program. This year, dinners were held in early October, late October, February, and March. | Howdy Camp 2026 | The purpose of this assessment was to understand the experiences of students who participated in Howdy Camp, sponsored by Aggie Transition Camps (ATC). Howdy Camp is an optional extended orientation camp for students transferring to Texas A&M University and first-time in college students starting in the spring semester. This year, camp was held in College Station in early January 2026, however, in 2025 there was also a session at Lakeview. A few weeks into the semester, one survey evaluation was sent to co-chairs, counselors, and teamers, and another survey was sent to participants (campers) to assess their camp experiences and whether the participant (camper) learning outcomes were met. | MSC SCOLA 38 Summary Report | The Student Conference on Latinx Affairs (SCOLA) is a two-day conference in which student delegates from Texas A&M University, as well as other universities and colleges, were given the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers and participate in workshop sessions and guided roundtable discussions focused on national and international issues impacting the Latinx community. The 38th SCOLA 2026, themed “Ponte las Pilas: Ignite Your Ambition,” was held March 27th and 28th, 2026. Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) assisted SCOLA conference organizers in assessing delegates’ and advisors’ experiences attending the conference. | MSC SCONA 71 Summary Report | Each spring, the MSC Student Conference on National Affairs (SCONA) hosts a conference to provide “programs for students across Texas, the nation, and the world to exchange ideas and discuss the role of the United States in the global community.” The theme for SCONA 71 was “Instruments of Power: American Influence on the Global Stage,” and it was held on February 10-14, 2026. SCONA 71 utilized speakers and team facilitators with first-hand experiences in the topics to guide delegates in the creation of a policy paper. | Business Student Council Effectiveness Survey - Sp 2026 | The Business Student Council (BSC) was interested in evaluating how effective BSC’s liaison support is in helping student organizations operate and navigate university processes to achieve their goals. This assessment gathered feedback on communication, responsiveness, and overall impact as well as opportunities for improvement.
